Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Oversight

  • Maintain a presence on site for the duration of the project.
  • Coordination with subcontractors, project inspectors, and owners.
  • Manage project outcomes including production goals and overall budget.

2. Communication

  • Maintain clear and open communication with all project stakeholders such as engineers, owners, and regulatory agencies.

3. Professional Presentation:

  • Maintain a polished appearance.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal communication free of slang or profanity.

4. Document and Specification Review:

  • Understand and interpret spec books, project plans, and regulations (specific to INDOT and MDOT).

5. Contracts and Purchasing:

  • Prepare and edit purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
  • Manage project submittals efficiently.

6. Behavior and Safety Management:

  • Address employee behavior or safety concerns promptly, providing verbal and written warnings as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA standards across all project elements.

7. Record Keeping:

  • Maintain accurate as-built drawings, documentation for change orders, and monthly pay applications.
  • Organize operation and maintenance materials systematically.

8. Scheduling:

  • Develop and oversee bar chart schedules using Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate material deliveries and manage subcontractor schedules.

9. Job Layout:

  • Ensure precision and accuracy in construction job layouts.

10. Bidding:

  • Embrace Selge Construction’s bidding philosophy and contribute to achieving and surpassing bidding goals.

Qualifications:

  • 6 + years of Industry Experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math for construction calculations.
  • Ability to interpret construction plans and specifications effectively.
  • Detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the role’s skill set.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing situations.
