Marv Selge, Jr

CEO

It is a privilege for me to serve as President of Selge Construction. I have enjoyed spending my entire working career in the construction industry, starting in June 1972 working summers for my father.  Sure enough, a great place to start was in the bottom of a trench box under the supervision of a very demanding foreman. My father and the foreman were “old school” and I am grateful for the knowledge passed on to me.

Earlier in my career, I studied at Olivet College and Western Michigan. I became a Project Foreman in 1978, progressing to Project Manager, in later years the Vice President and in 1993 transitioned my role to President. The cross section of my experiences from laying pipe, operating equipment, to managing projects helps drive my passion to understand the challenges of our very capable employees, who are committed to excellence.

These days when visiting a project, I like to look for ways to encourage others, spending more time focused on how people are doing. My greatest joy at Selge Construction is watching all the amazing people evolve in their life and advance in their careers professionally.

My terrific wife and I enjoy sharing our faith together and spending time in small groups at Gospel City Church in Granger, IN. We are very thankful for the opportunity to be involved with Life Action Ministries. We have two wonderful children and five grandchildren. I enjoy aviation, cycling, golf, hunting, fishing, and all types of outdoor activities.
